Describe any ethical considerations given the sample, population, and/or topic. Please explain as fully as possible (i.e., How do you plan to protect human participants while identifying the sample, while collecting the data, while analyzing the data, after data are collected, and during data storage?)

This section should contain a minimum of three (3) paragraphs and should discuss the ethical principles of research as it relates to the proposed study. 

•    The first paragraph will address any ethical issues or considerations related to the population and/or topic being studied.
•    The second paragraph will address ethical considerations in research (ethical principles related to Belmont).
•    The third paragraph will discuss how the following areas will be handled to mitigate any potential ethical issues:
    Field tests (if completed)
    Informed consent
    Written materials (ensuring all materials are understandable)

    Conflict of Interest
    Data Collection
    Data management

Assignment Instructions:
The following 3 things need to be addressed:
1. Explain why the population will not be considered vulnerable:

VERY IMPORTANT The participants for this study are women who have been out of prison/jail for a minimum of two years and have completed any/all community control sanctions (probation/parole). My population of women would not be considered Vulnerable, because they are no longer involved in the criminal justice system, they have completed all community control sanctions and no longer have a probation/parole officer and they are no longer on probation/parole.

a. Is the proposed population or research topic greater than minimal risk?        No
b. If yes, has the researcher had a consultation with the IRB office? Yes

Even though my population is not considered greater than minimal ris,  I still complete an IRB consultation. I will attach that information to this assignment when you are done. ( you can state in the paper that an IRB consultation was completed). 
     

When addressing this question understand: For my research, the population is:
The participants for my study are women who were incarcerated, are reintegrating back into the community, and they claim to have experienced transformation during the reintegration process.

My population would be considered a minimal risk because the participants in this study no longer

2. State that informed consent will be obtained:
Make sure you explain that you will obtain informed consent from all participants in the paper

3. Discuss the protection of data and that it will be destroyed after seven years. This is part of managing the data: I will be conducting a qualitative case study; I will interview the participants via zoom, and have the participant’s journal for 5 days after the interview. I will audio type the participants during the zoom interview to insure accurate information when collecting the data.
