Research question: How did the social reform of the Bolivarian Revolution under Hugo Chávez affect socioeconomic and politics in Venezuela which lead to hyperinflation? How did his reform cause the Venezuela Crisis? How is the current disputing president Nicolas Maduro carrying out Venezuela’s economy?

Abstract: In 1999, The Constitution of 1999 also called the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela shifted Venezuela’s politics under president Hugo Chevez. This reform was majorly backed by many diverse sectors and politicians. This reform has promised Venezuelans enshrined human rights, free education, free health care, a clean environment, and the rights of minorities. However, The Constitution of 1999 created democratic backsliding as Hugo Chevez, a strong socialist and Marxist believer, created laws to promote propaganda and refrain the human rights of the people. The reform has to lead to a political and economic crisis brought to Venezuela’s current state of hyperinflation.

What the professor thinks about my topic:
It is necessary to specify the main causes of the political crisis and hyperinflation. As the main causes, do you think of social democratic policies, imperial presidency, or populism? Maybe, these would be the main causes that many social scientists have mentioned. You refer to two outcomes. It is more effective to choose one outcome. As I read your abstract, the main outcome is hyperinflation. You can simply mention the political crisis as policy implications in your Conclusion. For example, you may choose the imperial presidency and populism as main causes (independent variables) and also highlight hyperinflation as the outcome variable (dependent variable).
