Background/Topic: The topic of the Bystander Effect has been introduced, researched, challenged, and confirmed for the last 50 years. While many have applauded Latane and Darley’s efforts to understand the problems facing citizens when they are confronted with emergency encounters, others have often asked if this is true, then what is next?
Connection: The purpose of the readings in this Unit was to introduce you to the topic of the bystander effect, and give you some background and context to the term. The goal now is to find a connection between what we think we know about the bystander effect and the realities that we now face decades later.
Writing Assignment: For this assignment, you will write an argumentative essay based on the topic of the Bystander Effect. You may choose from the following options:

Option 2: Using the bystander effect as a foundation, write an argument in which you discuss the bystander effect and what are the benefits and consequences modern technology has contributed to it?
